According to AAA and travel industry officials due to high Gasoline prices, increase in airfares and delay in public school reopening, the U.S travel is expected to go down by 2.4 percent as compared to last year.
As stated by Nancy Winn travel Agent with travel Leader/Spears, Labor Day has not been one of the major travel periods like other holidays and most of the clients are staying close to their homes.
Immense rise in fuel costs, along with steady air travel demand, has resulted increased airfares over the past three months. AAA estimates Labor Day airfares expected to be 13 percent higher than last year hence travel has become expensive overall due to the change in economic scenario across the States.
